This is my rendition of the Nike of Samothrace, a classical Greek statue, one of the most beautiful in the world. It was created to not only honor the goddess, Nike, but to portray artful flowing drapery through its features, which the Greeks considered ideal beauty.
I just finished AP Art History so I wanted to make a reference of some sort to the classical past, in my own way. Of course, I chose to make it a bit psychedelic. A gift for the fabulous teacher who taught that class.
Watercolor on Aquarelle paper.
